Gleneagles here we come!

We're putting on an extra special week-end event for our clients this April 2-3 2011 at the magnificent Gleneagles Estate in Scotland.

We'll all be converging on the coveted 5 star Gleneagles Hotel where a luxurious time deep in the Perthshire countryside is in store.

Jo will be up there sharing the amazing food and wine synonymous with the hotel and taking part in activities including falconry, equestrian and country pursuits in the 850 acre grounds.

Our next 'Phoenix Moments' event will take place early June... keep you posted.

Region's Young Entrepreneurs get a taste of the media

Rachel Hargrave, our MD at The Phoenix Partners will be taking time out of the office on 30th March 2011 to chat to young entrepreneurs at De Monfort University about the field of marketing and media.

We're an active supporter of EMIN and the ‘Working With and Understanding the Media’ workshop aims to support students and graduates who want to start their own business.

It'll be an interactive and fun session full of tips and secrets including how to spot opportunities and demo some of the photography equipment used in the industry.

The training session will also be an opportunity for attendees to network outside of their own universities and share their experiences as young entrepreneurs.

The Phoenix rises to the challenge.....

We've all been getting a little bit energetic at The Phoenix Partners in Sileby lately.. We're hoping that 'purple power' in the form of purple wigs, will help us not only stand out in the crowds, but unite us in our first team running event at the Derbyshire Building Society 10k Business Team Challenge on 3rd April.

We didn't quite know how enthusiatic our new marcomms colleague Jenni Manning-Ohren was for 'eventing,' but within hours on her first day she had already persuaded us to don our trainers and try out some 'go-faster' purple wigs in our corporate colours.

Rachel Hargrave will be team captain and obviously this all helps her training for her big Kilimanjaro trip in September... another story!

Meanwhile, the rest of the team will be Jenni, Matt Stokes, Nikki Stokes and David Manning-Ohren.

So on 3 April, Mothers' Day, we'll be heading over to Pride Park Stadium in Derby to take part in what should be a fun filled day!

It's not that we'll be breaking any race records, but as an agency we’re very competitive so you never know.

We've been training in our lunch hours and getting a few funny looks from the locals when trying out our wigs - as you can imagine!

So do give us a wave if you see us along the course and on the final finishing stretch with our curly locks flowing behind us....
